| Description | Mision Vida y Paz (MVP), originally a response to the violence largely from gangs, works to support children and youth in public schools by providing young people with tools to be agents of peace and find hopes and dreams in the midst of the challenges around them. Today, MVP continues to support students in their personal development with its year-long curriculum that provides simple tools for students of all ages to become protagonists for peace in their lives and their communities. We also provide holistic care to students, offering psychotherapy to students with clinical needs, supplying food for daily meals at schools, and providing parent and teacher trainings and capacity building. MVP works with local churches to build up community leaders who implement our educational program while serving as mentors for students. It invites the church to step outside its 4 walls and have a bigger impact in their local communities, working for peace and building a brighter future for El Salvador. MVP offers numerous opportunities for service and support. Some of these include: - Communications support for MVP locally and with partners and donors internationally - Support weekly MVP classes in local schools - provide and/or support teacher trainings and parent meetings - Organize small group projects with students and/or churches - Provide mentorship to MVP volunteers from local churches - Administrative support for the organization, including material updates, bookkeeping, and donor relations etc. |
