Description Dr. Junior Mudji, Medical Director of the Vanga Evangelical Hospital and IM's Associate Global Servants in Vanga in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are requesting an ESL Teacher who will provide English language instruction to Congolese medical residents serving in Vanga. The volunteer teacher needs to be a native English language speaker with knowledge, professional experience and training regarding best practices in teaching English (speaking, writing, reading and listening).
The volunteer should possess the skills needed to create an atmosphere that enhances learning, together with demonstrated attributes of patience, tolerance and kindness. The volunteer teacher will be expected to organize the coursework, including the content for each lesson, and provide feedback to each student on his/her progress. The goal is to help the students speak, write, listen and read in the English language.
The volunteer needs to be efficient in computer skills, to teach virtually.
The volunteer teacher needs to have a minimum of two years of experience teaching English as a second language and professional teaching experience. For any volunteers who have general knowledge of health care and elementary proficiency in the French language will be an asset.
Virtual teaching to happen 3 - 4 times a week for 6 months to a year, would be feasible.
