| Description | The Short-Term Mission desk in collaboration with the Area Director for Europe, Middle East and Liberia is sponsoring a Discovery trip to Liberia, for May 25 - June 2, 2023. It is an opportunity for a team of twelve people to meet with the IM partners; Link Aid International, Liberia Baptist Missionary & Educational Convention, the Liberia Baptist Theological Seminary, Ricks Institute, Lott Carey Baptist Mission, Liberia Tribal Baptist Convention, and the Liberia Direct Baptist Missionary Conference. A unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the historic relationship between American Baptists and Liberian Baptists, and between Liberia and the United States of America. Have you ever wondered what it must be like to serve as God's servant in times of wars, pandemic and socio-political challenges? Team members will visit ministries and projects supported by International Ministries who have answered that call. Team members will have opportunities to build relationships with sisters and brothers in Christ in Liberia; visit Providence Baptist Church and other historical sites in Monrovia; and enjoy some cultural immersion. Estimated cost includes in-country lodging, meals, in-country van transportation, IM Staff Leadership, Registration & Administration fee: $2,600. Team members(maximum 12 people) are responsible to purchase their own airline ticket and medical travel requirements. Yellow Fever vaccination is required to enter Liberia. All team participants must be COVID vaccinated. Deadline to register and full payment received by 4/20/2023. Team members will process online registration by paying $45 non-refundable registration fee, background check, Medical and Risk Waiver forms to complete & submit copy of COVID vaccination card & attend pre-trip orientation sessions. |
