| Description | To assist children and youth ministry at LSESD in running camps for Syrian refugees ages 8-13. LSESD holds around 20, 3-day camps each year with an average attendance of 60 children. The responsibilities included are giving biblical messages, crafts and activities as well as interacting with both the children and our local part-time staff and writing reports about what’s gone on at the camps. It would be helpful to have a person with experience of working with children, although since the children they will be serving at the camps are very different in comparison to children in the western world, a lot of flexibility and previous cross-cultural experiences are important. Volunteers with education degree/experiences are welcomed. The person must be comfortable writing in English for reporting to LSESD's partners as well as for newsletters and to assist with our social media profiles. |
